Greetings from Kenya Association of Fundraising Professionals!
The Executive Committee of KAFP wish to invite you for March Coffee Talk Season 13 scheduled for Thursday 30th March 2017. We shall look at The Business of Development: Understanding Corporate Interests and Motivations.
Forging partnerships with the right companies and corporates can play a vital role in achieving the income growth and diversity desired by not-for-profit sector organisations. Corporates are part of our daily lives, both directly and indirectly and are becoming more and more influential on the global stage. Their resources and networks enable them to generate substantial income and also communicate with and influence millions of people. On the other hand, development organizations must be warry of the threats to poor and excluded people posed by the concentration of economic power and resources in certain transnational corporations.
The March coffee talk will introduce you to the corporate philanthropy arena. It will cover approaches, motivations, interests and emerging best practice. The session will also cover who is who in the corporate development scene. It will highlight what the current trends in corporate philanthropy means to development partners. The session is geared towards increasing participants understanding of corporations in the development arena and how to engage with them effectively to bring about lasting change.
The Speaker Maurice Omondi | Fundraising Advisor- Child Sponsorship | ActionAid International will share rich experience of the process ActionAid has used to tap income from companies and corporates and the methods it uses to screen companies. Maurice Omondi works with ActionAid International as a Fundraising Advisor. He has a wealth of experience in fundraising, program development, capacity building and organizational leadership.
