Effective communication is arguably the most important aspect of fundraising and yet many organisations often given it less attention. In the midst of competing news in the media, an organisation has to remain in the sight and mind of a donor. While modern day communication through digital, social media and so on are quickly replacing traditional modes of communication, there are some dos and don’ts that remain the same irrespective of the media platform one uses. Furthermore, the new donor is no longer the old and rich white man as it used to be for long, but we are seeing an emergence of under 30 techies, male and female eager to change the world. How does one reach this new generation of donors? This coffee talks provides a snapshot of what modern communication for the nonprofit entails and how you can win a line of suitors through effective communication. It will show you how to keep track and communicate your impact to the right audience, assess how effective your communication is and how to mine data from your audience for developing even better proposals. It will show you how to integrate the communication function into your fundraising efforts. The session will also cover aspects of local fundraising via social media tools such as Facebook, Twitter etc. If you are interested in blowing your own trumpet without appearing bossy, this is the coffee talk you must attend.
