Who we are
The Kenya Association of Fundraising Professionals (KAFP) is a not-for-profit, voluntary organisation established to advance ethical, professional, and effective fundraising in Kenya and the region. We bring together individuals and institutions engaged in resource mobilization, philanthropy, and development work.

To champion ethical, professional, and effective fundraising by equipping resource mobilizers with the knowledge, skills, and standards required to strengthen organisations and communities.

Our history
KAFP was formed in response to the growing need for professional standards in fundraising and resource mobilisation. Over the years, the association has provided training to hundreds (and growing) of fundraising practitioners, partnered with global certification bodies, and convened events that bring together civil society, philanthropy, and development actors.

Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP)
Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) has an agreement of cooperation and protocol of agreement with Kenya Association of Fundraising Professionals (KAFP). The Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) headquartered in Arlington, Virginia, USA is the world's largest professional body for fundraisers.
It represents 30,000 members in 212 chapters throughout the world, working to advance philanthropy. AFP does this by enabling people and organisations to practice ethical and effective fundraising. The core activities through which AFP fulfils this mission include education, training, mentoring, research, credentialing and advocacy.

Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) International
CFRE International is the independent, global body that oversees the premier credential for professional fundraisers. It establishes the international standard for the knowledge and skills required to practice ethical and effective fundraising, ensuring that practitioners meet a high bar of professional competence.
The organization manages a comprehensive certification process that validates a fundraiser's experience and commitment to the sector. Through its rigorous exams and continuing education requirements, CFRE International fosters a global community of professionals dedicated to accountability, excellence, and the advancement of philanthropy through proven best practices.
UNICAF
The organization provides significant scholarship opportunities, making undergraduate and postgraduate education more accessible to underserved markets. By leveraging a state-of-the-art digital learning ecosystem, UNICAF enables students to gain academic excellence while balancing their professional responsibilities, ultimately building a more skilled and educated global workforce.
